I think yes because when Charlotte first met Zachariah he seemed kind of creepy and when he gave her the dirk on page 34 paragraph 2 he might of gave the dirk to Charlotte for evidince of Mr.Hollybrass's death
I think Zachariah could of murdered Mr. Hollybrass because Zachariah gave Charlotte the dirk.Also Zachariah gave the dirk as if something bad would happen if he had it.So Zachariah probably gave the dirk because he murdered Mr. Hollybrass.
I believe that Zachariah could have killed Hollybrass while he was above deck because no one could have seen him and he probably wanted revenge on him for nearly killing him. I do not think that Zachariah was capable of doing that action, but then again, I did not think that Charlotte could become a sailor, and she did. This means that Zachariah could have killed him, but I personally believe that Captain Jaggery killed him, being the murderer he is.
Yes, i think Zachariah murdered Mr. Hollybrass because Zachariah gave her the dirk so they would suspect that she had murdered Mr. Hollybrass even if Charlotte hadn't done it.
I think Zachariah couldn't have murdered Mr.Hollybrass because he only had a few seconds to save Charlotte before someone saw him. So he couldn't have gone into Charlotte's room, taken the dirk, then go save Charlotte, and then go back to murder Mr.Hollybrass. He also doesn't seem like the person who would cause that trouble to Charlotte or take her dirk because he was the one who gave it to her and told her to use it in times of trouble.
I think Zachariah gave her the dirk to protect herself, not to frame her. I think Zachariah was trying to be friends with her and the death of Mr. Hollybrass was not Zacharia's fault. Like on page 36, Paragraph 3. "Come," "do as they do in big houses. Enter, drink, and eat," but then it could've also been a scheme to make her be his friend, give her a dirk, and then frame her.
I personally don't think Zachariah would have murdered Mr. Hollybrass because he was helping the crew cut down sails. I understand that Zachariah gave Charlotte the Dirk and told her to leave it under her mattress, but if you think about who else told Charlotte to hide the dirk under her mattress, who else knew Charlotte left the Dirk in her cabin. I think captain Jaggery killed Mr. Hollybrass even though they were friends and blamed Charlotte for the crime.
I think yes because Zach may have been jealous of Mr.Hollybrass always being Captain Jag's first mate. While Captain Jag and Mr. Hollybrass were arguing, I think that the first mate saw Zach and was going to rat him out. After he saved Charlotte's life, he took the knife from Charlotte's old cabin, and murdered the victim.
I think that of course Zachariah is one of the susects. He could definitley kill Mr. Hollybrass. He was on the deck at the time and knew where the dirk was. I personatly think that Zachariah would never harm a human being ever. He is a nice man but yet a suspect.
I definitely think Zachariah could have killed Mr. Hollybrass, and I know he is definitely a suspect. He knew where the dirk was at the time and I think we wanted to vengeance against him since Mr. Hollybrass is the one who whipped him. Like Jason said, he is a very nice person and most likely wouldn't kill someone like that.

I think many signs point to Zachariah is guilty. 1. HOLLYBRASS TRIED TO MURDER HIM! 2. Zachariah is still alive, so he should be considered just as anyone else. 3. He was one f the few people who knew about the dirk. 4. He was up during the storm. There were also many signs that showed he was innocent. 1. He wouldn't try to frame Charlotte. He is her friend. 2. Hollybrass didn't want to murder Zachariah, but he was ordered to.
I think Zachariah could of easily killed Mr. Hollybrass! Zachariah could have done it more easily then anyone else, he is supposed to be dead so nobody would suspect him, and he did know about the dirk because Charlotte told him. another reason I think Zachariah killed him was because Mr. Hollybrass was the one who whipped Zachariah " almost" to death! If Hollybrass's intentions where to kill Zachariah then it would make since for Zachariah to want to kill him. In my opinion my fingers point to Zachariah as guilty more then anyone else being guilty.
