I would trust Zachariah and Mister Keetch because the both gave Charlotte a warning and try to make her safe. They both don't trust Captain Jaggery because Zachariah and Mister Keetch know of Captain Jaggery cruelty.
I would trust Mr.Keetch because he wanted to let me know that i could have a better trip by saying, "Since Captain Jaggery isn't aboard I've no choice but to stand in his place. But its my strong opinion, miss, that you should take another ship for your passage to America."
I wouldn't trust anybody. The reason being is because, if I were Chorlotte, I would've only known those people for 2 months at most, and that's for the whole time on the ship. I wouldn't know if they are usually nice or mean, or if they lie a lot. The whole thing with Captain Jaggery could just be an act, and with Zachariah, he could've given Charlotte the dirk to frame her.
I trust Zachariah and Mister Keetch (like Cielo). They both try to warn Charlotte to get off the ship. Zachariah even gave her a knife! Something about Captain Jaggery made me wonder if I should trust him or not.
I trust Captain Jaggery because if Charlotte's dad really cared, which he does, he would never put her in harms way. I don't trust Zachariah because his warning was kind, but if he really cared about Charlotte's safety, he would protect her himself.
I would trust Zachariah because he was trying to keep her safe and I would also trust Mr. Keetch because he also tried to keep Charlotte safe. But I would also not trust Zachariah because he gave Charlotte the dirk and he may of done the murder with the knife and gave it to her because he wanted everyone to think that Charlotte did it.
I would trust Captain Jaggery even though everyone says that he is a bad person because he is the captain of the ship and if he did something bad the government or the people that are in charge of the captains would take away his licence. Also he is a wise person and knows his way around the ocean.
I would trust Zachariah because he is the only person not acting strange- he is being himself. Even though he may be a bit too pushy at times, he always comes around. he is especially sweet to Charolotte because she has no real friends and he just want her to enjoy the ride. I would trust him because he'll do anything to ensure your well being. An example is when Charolotte was sick. Zachariah took her to er room, fed her, and did anything in his power to ensure her well being. He is a great person and friend to trust.
I would trust Zachariah for sure, because of the kindness and concern he displayed when he gave her the knife. If he had hated her, he would not have given her the knife for her safe keeping. But beyond Zachariah, I don't know if I would trust anyone else on the crew. They all seem so distant, and I'm sure that they all secretly loath her.
I would trust Zachariah because he is old and he is black, while Charlotte is white and she is the only girl on the ship since the other family couldn't make it to Liverpool and their son was sick so he couldn't go and Zachariah gave her the dirk for protection and he is the cook so he can also help her around the ship if she gets lost somewhere or can't find her cabin.
I would trust Zichariach because he has just this special quality that makes you know in your gut that he is trustworthy. That is the exact opposite of Captain Jaggery because something just tells me that something is going on with him and he is not to be trusted.
I would trust the captain but I would still keep my distance and never let my gard down. I would also find out a little more about this Zachariah person and why he gave me the knife and told me to use it for safety.
I would not exactly trust the ship because like mentioned in the first or second chapter, the boat was nothing she expected as far as luxury goes. So that already tipped her idea of feeling welcome to the ship. Now knowing that she could be in great danger because under the circumstances of her having a knife and being told to protect herself, it is really hard to be comfortable with the ship knowing that someone out there is trying to kill her.
Cielo, I agree with you. Zachariah and Mister Keetch are trying to protect you, but what if they are only trying to gain your trust and use it against you? Maybe it is the captain you should trust. I would trust one person, my self. I'm on a boat with complete strangers. They gave me a knife to protect my self, you know some body is going to do something. not trusting anybody would make me feel like everyone is the enemy. i would not feel safe.
At this point i am leaning towards trusting Zachiriah, and Zachariah only. Many people are approching charolotte and giving her mixed signals on who to trust and who not to trust. Zachariah has been there since the very begining with protection to Charolotte and so he has shown that he can be trusted and relied on.
Yes sara but on the back of the book it say's"Not every thirteen year old is accused of murder, brought to trial and found guilty." so that must mean that she was found guilty because of the dirk Zachariah gave her.
I think that I would honestly trust the captain because they has to be some line of authority there because if there wasn't then most likely he wouldn't be the captain pf the ship. So in some sort of way he is a leader and is a good person to trust.
Personally, I trust Zachariah fairly well. The civilized man shared tea with her when she arrived, gave friendly advice, gave her the dirk for self protection, and showed her around. Adding to that, there are some cons to him as well. I think a man trying to befriend her is pretty odd. I mean, even some friends don't do that, so I have pros and cns about her.
We know that she is found guilty of murder, but do we know that the murder has anything to do with the dirk? It's a valid prediction, but information we do not yet have!!!
I would trust the captain and only people he trusts once I see them and know them. I would do this because it is people he knows and I know so he is a person of authority.
If I had to choose I would say Zachariah, because he gave me a dirk to protect me.He is also the same race as me and that would give a little extra bonus.I would be kinda caught in the middle because at tea Jaggery showed up to be a kind gentlemen.I would be wondering if the bad rumors people have been saying are true.

ReplyDeleteCielo,
ReplyDeleteCould it be that the warning is unfounded and self serving?
I would trust Mr.Keetch because he wanted to let me know that i could have a better trip by saying, "Since Captain Jaggery isn't aboard I've no choice but to stand in his place. But its my strong opinion, miss, that you should take another ship for your passage to America."

Correction: He should have protected her himself. sorry

ReplyDeleteI agree with you Adina, but Zachariah being generous and kind could just be a scam. It might backfire.
ReplyDeleteFirst Rocco you have the same answer as before .
ReplyDeleteThen I would trust the captin because he has very good manners
And he seems nice

ReplyDeleteOh, I got the wrong question. I would trust Zachariah because he seems to be nice and the only one who was trying to protect me.
