My opinion of the captain's plan is that it is stupid and cruel. You should NEVER kill people, no matter what, no matter what! (Ha! Ha! Ha!) The flaws in his plan are that one, he can do a lot of jail time for murder, maybe even capital punishment. He can also face a bad time when he dies,if you know what I mean... Also, Jaggery never knows if he will actually go through with the plan, or chicken out at the last second. Jaggery will also not know if the person he is killing is just a decoy or not even a real person, but some sort of animal that was being stowed with Zachariah. That is an intriguingbthought, but it can happen... All in all, Captain Jaggery is a bad person who has no idea what he is doing and never thinks of possible outcomes.
Adina, I agree with the fact that killing is wrong, but I do believe that he would never "chicken out". He has shown that he is cruel, coldblooded, murderous, and will do anything to stay the captain of the Seahawk. If you add together all these factors, it is easy to see that he is a sociopath, a demented freak who will manipulate people against each other for his own means. He turned the crew against Charlotte, and murders two individuals.
I think that his plan is completely OUT OF CONTROL!!! The only reason that he wants to kill them is because they all show rebellion which scares him because his cleverness isn't working and he doesn't want to be overthrown. Killing innocent people is never right but it is normal for captain Jaggery.
I think the plan is getting WAY out of hand. Like Maria said, the only reason he wants to kill them is because they all show that they rebel against him. It scares him because he thinks that his cleverness isn't working and he doesn't want the whole crew against him. So basically, killing people comes " naturally" to him because of how cruel he is, basically.
I see no meaning in this plan because if there is one thing I know...KILLING PEOPLE NEVER MAKES THINGS BETTER!!!!!!!!! (and no I just know that from common sense) but I don't know what he is trying to prove....but no matter what it is, even being captain Jaggery himself, if he tells himself he is going to do so he is because he is a crude, selfish, sick man of his own, and will stop at nothing.
I can see where Captain Jaggery is going with his murderous plot, but there are some pieces of his logic that are questionable. I agree with Ryan's opinions that Captain Jaggery will do anything to stay captain because he believes that he belongs on the top of the pyramid.
Ryan, he would definitely carry out his plan even if it killed him too. He has obviously done it before because the people at the docks wouldn't go near the boat. There is awful logic be hind this that would never work, killing people.
i think his logic is completely mad, but it must make sense to him if he plans to follow it through. You see he didn't want Charlotte to get him fired so his solution is to kill her. I don't believe that he wants to kill Charlotte but finds it as a last resort. He tried to get across to her by almost killing her friend, Zachariah. The Captain had hoped that Charlotte would have stayed in the shadows and hid from the others but instead she joined the crew. During all this Mr. Hollybrass doubted almost all of Jaggery's plans. Captain Jaggery took these suggestions as a treat and rid the ship of Hollybrass. So yes I see many flaws in the Captain's plan.
I think Captain Jaggery went off the deep end. I think he might be either insane or really clever. Probably insane. One of the flaws is that when three people died, some officials might be suspicious and ask the crew. If the crew wont reply with a name (they probably wont), then they will have to investigate.
Captain Jaggery is very messed up man. Killing isn't suppose to cure your problems. I mean WHY EVEN DO In THE FIRST PLACE!!! The logic to this plan I think is horrible, i mean how can you get away with your plan if it involves killing in it, THE ANSWER IS YOU WON'T!
Captain Jag's plan is not well thought out because, his crew would probably never keep quiet about all the murders. One flaw is that he gave Charlotte choices and told her his whole plan and she had back up to protect her.
My opinion about the captains plan is that it's horrific. You should never kill people know matter what the reason and he is crazy if he thinks killing 3 people will restore balance, it will do the opposite. Their are not many flaws except that the crew could have sided with Charlotte and seeing her innocent and the other flaw is that the crew could have rioted against him and kidnap him in his sleep but that's it.
If Jaggery has to kill fellow shipmates to keep his authotities then his plan is stupid and selfish. I wish I could say that he would chicken out but I don't believe he will. Like I mentioned before he will do anythink to keep his " powers." And anyways the only thing I can see in his little plan is stupidness, selfishness, flaws, and mistakes, and deaths no one desearves except Jaggery himself.
Isee many flaws in his plan one he was the last one with Mr.Hollybrass and he knew where the dirk was. Two why would a girl like Charolette take a man's life like Mr.Hollybrass. Three none of Captain Jaggery's lies aren't that good. Therefore I rest my case.

ReplyDeleteDaniel, I like that little "joke" you slipped in there. Also, who else do you think Jaggery will kill if hens let go without any punishment a all?
