At the end of Chapter 7, Charlotte said that she wanted to hide the knife and forget about it. What does this tell you about her growth as a character and what do you think will happen to the knife?
I think Charlotte has become more comfortable around the crew. She's gotten to know them better, therefore thinking she won't need the knife. I think that the knife will be stolen, I can see it a mile away. Charlotte gets accused of murder and is found guilty. I think Charlotte will get framed. SOMEONE will take the knife and murder a person, then put it back under Charlotte's mattress and make it look like she murdered the person.
I think that she is trying to forget about the dirk because she is afraid she will actually use it.what this tells you about her growth in character is that she has grown fonder of the crew and what would happen is that someone will murder someone and the person with use the dirk and frame Charlotte for it. They will put the dirk back under her mattress and I think she will get framed for the murder that the person did.
I think that Charlotte will use the knife since on page 61 she, wrapped it in one of my own handkerchiefs and placed it again in my pocket, determined to fling all into the ocean. At that faithful moment, however, I paused, recollecting that both Captain Jaggery and Zachariah had urged me to keep the weapon. What if each chanced to ask of it again? so I think that since they both told her to keep it, then they might take the knife, murder someone, and put it back and Charlotte gets framed just like Louis had said.
I think she wont forget about it. Everything is easier said than done, especially when you try to forget things. I think she's trying to convince herself that there's no reason to have it, but she wont forget about it, just in case there is an emergency in where she would use it.
What this tells me about Charlotte is that she has become more scared and less trustful about being in a ship full of men. What I think will happen is that the dirk will get stolen and Charlotte will forget about it.Then the person will kill someone and then put it back under charlottes bed.
Charlotte is not ready maturely to take on the big responsibility of having a knife. I believe that Charlotte will get rid of the knife when she needs it.
Charlotte is now better behaved around the crew, so she doesn't think that a self defense weapon is needed because of how friendly they are. She also isn't ready to use it because she has never been in danger before. She thought,"Why would it start now?" Therefore, she just went with an easy decision: Just don't worry about the dirk and you'll never need to use it. I personally would have carried it with me at all times, never knowing when you might need it or not.
Julio~ Who do you think the murderer is? I think that it is Mr. Barlow because I have another theory for it: He was the creep who put the wooden head in the storage area.
I think the dirk will get stolen.I think that because she might forget about it and a crew member might go in her room and take the dirk. They could also use it against Charlotte.
she decides that many people have warned her so she will keep it but she want to forget about it because she doesnt like the idea of changing into someone else. She will end up probalby feeling comfortable when she knows that the nife is safe and will not be used. Then when she least expects it she will need it the most.
I agree with Adina because now that she is starting to fit in and everyone likes her, she is starting to wonder why she would even need to use it when everyone seems so friendly. But I think she should still keep it just to make sure she will be safe.

ReplyDeleteI think that Charlotte is more uneasy then before. I think that some one will have to have a mutany and she will use it.
ReplyDeleteI think Charlotte is starting to very well mature. She is not afraid to use the dirk, but she feels that she is stronger.
