Charlotte's choice of clothing poses an issue for Captain Jaggery. Why does what she wears matter to him? What does her choice of clothing say about her?
The sailor clothing upsets the captain because that means that Charlotte is now 100% againsts him. Captain Jaggery does not want that to happen because he needs Charlotte- she is the only one who can tell him what is going on with the crew. Charlotte's choice of clothing means that she is finally ready to move on from one person who she trusts to another. The people she currently trusts is the crew. This also means that she can finally stand up for herself using her words and her actions. She used words when she told the captain about her father: he owns the ship and cannot stop her from dressing the way she is dressing because she has he own reasons. Her actions helped her stand up for herself because she is going againsts the captain's orders by becoming a jack and dressing in their uniform. Charlotte is doing well in life so far.
Captain Jaggery cares about what Charlotte wore because it was a sailer's uniform and it shows that Charlotte is one of the crew. He turned mad because she has chosen the other side instead of his. The choice of clothing means that she is confident to do whatever just to have the chance to get revenge on the captain. It also shows that she has accepted other ways to dress and behave so now she doesn't care if someone is a lower class than her. She still wants to be their friend.
Her clothing proved that she no longer was a young people-pleasing passenger. She was now a rebelling member of the crew. She no longer liked Captain Jaggery, and her clothing showed it. The Captain did not like being rebelled by someone he had befriended.
The sailor clothing means that she is now 100% against Captain Jaggery. Captain Jaggery needs Charlotte because she is the only one who can tell him about what is happening on the ship behind his back. Charlotte's new type of clothing means that she is finally able to come out of her shell and speak lie she would on land. Her real personality is showing now because she doesn't have to be in a dress and pretend that she loves being proper and wear dresses all of the time. Charlotte is finally free and is loving the freedom of not having to wear dresses and be proper. Each day she wakes up and gets to work with no problem. And now Charlotte is out of her cramped little cabin and into a much more comfortable cabin with a lot of men around her. So far Charlotte is loving being free.
Charlotte's choice of clothing upsets captain Jaggery because it means that she has chosen her side in the "war" and will not turn back. She has always gone to the side that has the most civilized people, people her father would approve of, but in this case she has chosen the side that seems the most fit for her new personality. The new clothing tells you that Charlotte has had a change of heart. When she first arrived on the Seahawk she despised the crew, but after the captain killed the two men she knew it was time to join the other side, the crew.
The waynshe dresses is the way of her heart. When she put on the raggedy clothes, she was saying tobJaggery that she was on the opposite side. The choice of the clothes says that she has more respect for the crew and none for Jaggery.
I think that changes the way she acts by how she had joined the crew and Captain Jaggery got mad and he probably thinks that she has gone against him by not dressing like a lady like she was supposed to and Jaggery thought she was going to dress like that till the whole voyage until she wore the clothes the crew wore and Jaggery doesn't like that since I think that he doesn't want Charlotte to do any work since she is the only lady on the ship.
Charlotte's choice of clothing poses an issue for Captain Jaggery because Captain Jaggery doesn't want Charlotte to join the crew. By wearing the sailors garments and climbing to the top of the royal yard proves that she wants to be a part of the crew. Her choice of clothing indicates that she's not a proper, formal young lady anymore. She is a sailer, and isn't afraid to get her hands dirty, so to speak.
When she is wearing the sailor clothes she is most likely giving in .When she is wearing he nice Victorian dress, she is most likely rebelling. When she is kissing up to the crew she is problem going to wear the sailor clothes.
I think Captain Jag might worry about what her dad will think when his daughter returns from his ship dressed like a bum. She also showed that she really doesn't want to side with Captain Jag, and she is one of the crew. Isn't it sort of weird that there are no passengers aboard the Seahawk no? It's just the Captain and his crew.
Her choice of clothing says that she is defiant. I agree with Kassidy because Charlotte knows that Captain Jaggery will worry about what her father will think.
her choice of clothing indicates on which side she is on the captain side or the crew side,if she is wearing the clothes that zacariah gave her she is part of the crew if she is wearing her most expensive and beautiful clothes she has she is on the captains side.
Her choice of clothing being the sailor clothes indicates that she is now over Captain Jaggery. Captain Jaggery knows that she is now on the crews side. He now knows she doesn't care about him any more.
The captain I think is afraid of what Charlotte's dad will think when Charlotte comes home looking like a boy, and now with short hair. It says that Charlotte is become more mature she is now apart of the crew and she is not afraid of Captain Jaggery. Whatever he say doesn't matter to her, I mean did you see how she stood up for herself when she was becoming apart of the crew wearing the boy clothes.
I think the captain cares what Charlotte wears because he is afraid her dad will blame her look on him and fire him or demote him. It shows that Charlotte is trying to retaliate against Captain Jaggery and it shows that he has more trust in the crew then in him. It shows that she is sorry for her mistake and it shows she is part of the crew now not with Captain Jaggery.
